Jetairfly LIL

Postby ostendferry » Tue Jan 22, 2013 3:29 pm

JAF will start flying from LIL in April.
Will this take traffic away from EBOS? I think so...

No flights from OST should be affected.

Hi,

I mean passengers who would normally go via EBOS(Kortrijk-Ieper-Waregem-Deinze).
Even Dunkerque-Calais-Boulogne, this should attract more passengers to Lille instead of Oostende especially if the flight times are good and if the prices are cheaper.

Then again Charleroi is also not that far.
Is this like a "get one foot in to avoid another ones in"?

Eindhoven should have been a better option for people living in the Antwerp metropole. Also for Dutch people who want to take advantage of the more beneficial Belgian holiday periods.
Perhaps this is for 2014...

LIL is not that far from BRU, CRL and OST. So they it will have affect on all airports. However, Jetairfly now reaches more people. Also, RYR operates in LIL. Maybe JAF wants to add some extra tension with them? No idea about the last. But let us be fair, JAF is the sole Belgian airline with a good vision in the future. It has been growing since its first year. Also the number of passengers is increasing and they have to catch that growth somewhere and be the first in challenging the unknown. Other then Brussels Airlines, losing 70 million each year...

For information, Tec4jets is also opening a line maintenance station in Lille. And if the rumours are correct they already have a 2nd customer (next to Jetairfly).

Kind regards,
Yves
